As I stated previously in a post, I am working on becoming a healthier version of myself. Not only am I spending 4-5 hours at the gym each week, on top of hiking as much as I can, but I have also altered my diet to remove most meat and most animal-based products in order to assist in kidney health.
This change in lifestyle has introduced me to a number of meals I never would have considered previously. Some of these meals are simply salads, made with various ingredients that I never would have put together before. I will be sharing some of these recipes with you to help you find your healthiest you.
Some of these recipes are completely odd and off the wall things, but I have yet to try anything that is “Gross” or “Inedible” they are often times just “different”. Like for instance this dish:

This dish was prepared for me by a friend when I was just starting the vegetarian swap and found it to be absolutely scrumptious.
Or this:

Vegan and Gluten Free Caesar Pasta Salad

One thing I have really appreciated about turning to more plant based foods is that my joints and belly feel much less bloated, so that lends to greater mobility and less arthritic pain. I also feel more able to move around and go outside and do the things I enjoy. I have also found many links that point to a healthy way of life as a great way to reduce the risk of getting a chronic condition in the first place.
See the following list of websites that can help you find your ideal healthy balanced meal plan, and also sustain or lower your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and any other chronic disease, such as cancer. Here are a few places to get more resources for starters.

Other ways to prevent and **possibly** reverse harmful chronic conditions are: stay away from smoking, get regular physical activity, avoid drinking too much alcohol, get enough sleep, know your family history and get screened often. Its never too late to start living a healthy lifestyle.
