A Series of Impeccably Timed Frustrating Happenings

If you don’t know what this references, head to your local library and find a copy of Lemony Snickett’s a series of unfortunate events. This, in the smallest of ways; feels a little like my life right now.

I finally obtain a job after 2 months of negative cash flow, to then a flat tire my first week, followed by an evil virus that still has me fighting for a voice. It’s funny sometimes how life behaves when I’m around. I have to keep reminding myself that things could be worse…but, no way am I going to give examples because goodness knows things can tilt at any moment.

Little moments can often be the miracles or struggle is all that is needed to tip the scales. For instance, dinner with a friend, a manicure, or a friend stopping by because she heard your sick could be the up that your life needs when the place you are standing is tilting down (think a cartoon Jerry stepping on a board and sending Tom flying into the air).

So, I got a blessing and am trusting that God will see me through, because I learned long ago He knows I’m strong enough to walk through the fire instead of being taken out of it. I am trying to do it with minimal grumbling and mumbling, but there are a few things that have significantly lightened my load, so to speak, while getting through this fire walk.

Genuinely good friends, no matter the number. Having a good friend who understands your needs can be a burden lifter.

Herbal Tea with Honey, I think this may truly be a revelation for me. I do not drink tea on the regular, but tea has become my companion through this journey and has helped me sleep.

Family. Being around family during the holiday made me forget I couldn’t talk and brought lots of joy into my life.

Steaming hot showers. I HATE daily showers as a curly haired girl. Call me gross if you want… but during this week, I have taken a steaming ♨️ shower every day, which has cleared my mind and throat.

All that’s left is my body actually being able to heal itself…. let’s go body!
