So, settling into this contract job has been quite a bit less than ideal. The job doesn’t stretch me or improve my skills in any way. In fact, I sit and do the same mindless paper shuffling day in and out, and the job itself is usually complete hours before the workday is done. Not that I’m complaining about having a steady stream of income, but I wish the management could see my value and would help me move forward instead of holding me back.

So, in response to that frustration, I have purchased a coding class, an excel class, and a fiction writing class as a way to expand my knowledge and make me more marketable. If this company won’t see my value, surely someone will. The classes are go at your own pace and take you from very basic to supposed expert. I have been working on the excel one and feel like I have already learned a few new and exciting tricks and tips.

Investing in myself is something I want to start taking more seriously, I need to be able to create better, more lucrative incomw streams for me to be able to pay down my debt and get on track for a successful future.
