I’m going to be honest. I’ve never really thought of myself as a loyalist to certain brands. However, since I have moved recently into a household that does not buy brand name products except in a very specific occasions. I have found myself more and more drawn to brands that perform better than generic in specific areas.
Generally, with very few exceptions, the only difference between brands and generic in the realm of food is the name. You are often paying for the name rather than the product.
That being said, brands that I purchase from over others based on quality of the product are…. drumroll please… Tide, Dawn, and Heinz and Cottonelle. I also do my best to purchase foods that are made with whole food ingredients. I know consumers are aware that many foods are packed with non-food ingredients., however many simply don’t have the time or finances(in today’s economy) to educate themselves and purchase smarter. Check the back of a can or box next time you make a purchase and tell me how many ingredients you can pronounce. My guess is between 2-3 of the ingredients outside of water will be actually pronounceable.
That being said, if I find a brand that focuses on whole ingredients that isn’t outrageously expensive I choose them.
In the past, I’ve spent an unruly amount of time perusing food labels in search of products that don’t fill my body with chemicals that change my hormones. Having a disease primarily centered on my hormones has left me more acutely aware of how my body feels and reacts to specific things I put in it.
Raos homemade is a good example. It is made with whole food ingredients.
Heinz offers options with no added sugar or less sugar.
The choice is yours. I choose less ingredients, more real food.
Clothes? I find options that last and fit well. As a girl with a badonk and tots that are above average, fit and comfort are very important to me. I don’t try to fit into sizes too small for my body. Old Navy is my go-to for things that fit right. They know their proportions and their fit is superb.
Same with shoes as a fluffy woman, I will not walk around in heals all day unless they are espadrilles. I choose comfort. Sketchers hiking sandals work just as well as Tevas in my opinion and are a reasonable price. Hiitave water shoes are similar to barefoot shoes, and again are so comfortable and reasonably priced when compared with other barefoot shoes. Again, this being said, what kind of advertiser would I be if I didn’t at least give you an affiliate link to these knock-out trail hiking sandals on Amazon? or even the water shoes I rave about to all my friends that are not only extremely comfortable, but can be worn to water parks, hiking, kayaking, and you feel like you have nothing on your feet.
Saucony socks offer moisture wicking for a better price than Bombas.
Perhaps, by writing this, I’m discovering I’m more picky than I realized. But Im trying to make choices that are better for me and keep me healthy for longer. Join me on the quest to find things that keep our bodies and pocketbooks full and healthy.
