Guys, when I tell you this is wild, believe me, it’s wild.
When I left Utah, I had my license suspended. Approximately a year later, I’m still living on the suspension cloud, floating around trying to get a straight answer from any or all sides of the situation.
Utah told me I needed a doctor’s clearance. So, I spent the first 9 months, getting a Neurologist set up to get a clearance to send to Utah.
Utah then told me I needed the doctor who marked me “do not drive” to clear me instead of the Indiana doctor as they indicated at first. They argued with me that they couldn’t do anything for me and transferred me to the supervisor. Who then told me that the doctor requirement was waived. I now needed to pass a written driver’s test and a road test.
Well, I spoke to Indiana who then told me I can’t do either with a suspended license.
Monday, I called Utah, and the supervisor released my suspension for 30 days.
Today, I took the written test and passed. However, they would not allow me to take a driving test because they wanted my certified driving record from Utah. So, I’m again going in circles trying to get paperwork before the 30-day deadline.
I sent Utah paperwork, so they can send paperwork back to me with instructions to Indiana to allow me to take a driving test. Indiana said if they get the paperwork back and it doesn’t show a suspension or an expired license they will not give me a driving test and just issue a license. Which in reality sounds lovely, but if Utah doesn’t get the test results back the suspension is permanent.
We are at odds and I’m not sure if things will get cleared up.
Welcome to my circle of the nightmare of licensing in this country. Reminder, I speak the language and have never broken the law.🥹
Shout out to the Utah mountains pictured below. It may be my main method of transportation for the near future.
