📬 Postcards – A faded stamp, familiar handwriting, a message meant just for you—these aren’t just paper souvenirs; they’re time capsules of love, wisdom, and the voices of those we miss. And when it comes to postcards, the most cherished ones aren’t just the ones with breathtaking landscapes or quirky illustrations. They’re the ones sent by loved ones who are no longer here, allowing me to hold onto a piece of them in the most personal and way.
Pins – Whether from a special trip, a favorite cause, or a personal milestone, pins serve as tiny, wearable memories. They spark conversations, hold nostalgia, and remind me of the places, people, and passions that shaped me.
💰 Coins – I started collecting these when I was very small. My dad and I would go through bags and bags of coins from the jewelers to see if we could fill up coin books. I remember spending many evenings on the living room floor just sorting through coins. It was more about the time spent together rather than the actual coins themselves that brought such joy.
⛰ Rocks – Sometimes, a simple stone from a shared adventure holds more meaning than the rarest gem. These treasures ground us in nostalgia, reminding us of laughter, journeys, and the people who shaped us. This one holds an extra special place in my heart, having moved from the mountains back to the plains. Taking a little of my mountain home with me back to Indiana is a healing boon.
