Today I was on YouTube trying to find something original and fun to listen to. This is pretty much impossible with all of the cover artists and bands out there covering “already famous” songs in a slower, more jazzy, more hip-hop, more country style. You name it, it’s out there.
While I agree that it takes a lot of hard work, dedication and frankly, guts to put out music that is already famous, in the hopes that you can make a name for yourself, it is also slightly tiring to have so many remixes of the songs that are already overplayed on the radio.
That being said, I do LOVE a lot of cover artists and their renditions of popular songs. Here are my top five of all time – in no particular order. You should give them a listen.
Superbass – Originally by Nicki Minaj – Covered by Tyler Ward & Crew.
I love their smooth, slow style and the blending of voices. Way to go guys.
Let it Go – Let Her Go Mashup – Originally by Passenger and Idina Menzel
Original and fun and I dare you not to fall in love with him just a little bit as your watching him sing.
Say Something – Originally by Great Big World ft. Christina Aguilera – Covered by Victoria Justice and Max
I love this song, which makes the cover a love as well.
Kissed You (Goodnight) – Originally by Gloriana – Covered by Tiffany Alvord & Chester See
I love this and had to include something country!
We Found Love – Originally by Rihanna and Calvin Harris – Covered by Lindsey Stirling & Ven Tribe
Love the electric violin and the acapella sound.
Stay tuned for part two and let us know some of your favorites.
