Adulting with Chronic Conditions when Things Suck

I’m not sure when being responsible, having a job, and doing hard things gained it’s own verb; but I do know that as soon as you realize you’re an adult, you recognize you’d prefer childhood, without the complexities that come with being an adult.

As anyone who has read my ramblings in the last month or so knows, I was let go from my job in October. I have since been dog sitting, delivering food for Uber, and taking on Gig work. Well another fun adulting adventure happened to me yesterday when I was told the job I had received was no longer going to be given to me because they are preemptively reducing their workforce. The news was met first with disbelieving laughter and then after receiving a blessing from my brother unfiltered crying.

So here I go a wandering again to try to find a job that can meet my needs… I am trying to have faith that things will work out if I continue to push and work and try to make it all work out.

For now I’m walking by faith, hoping that things will work out and using my skills and creative energy to make things work for my good.

Here is my current plan:

– I am building a recipe catalog with easy vegan meals that can be quickly altered and adjusted to meet my needs.

-I am organizing and preparing my space for an at home work environment and scheduling my day to avoid excessive I’m time wasting.

-I am spending time with God to help fortify me against the trials that never cease.

– And I’ve asked people with greater knowledge than I for help on resume building.

The first step to success is overcoming your fear and fear is less potent when it doesn’t have the power to overcome you because of your preparation.

So.. the lesson for those struggling with Adulting and Chronic conditions is preparation and patience while you work on your dreams.
