Practicing Awareness: A Key to Positive Interaction
Daily writing prompt
What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

It’s been a hot minute since I replied to these prompts, but this one struck me. Awareness is something a lot of people leave at home daily. This is something that’s been on my mind lately When you are in the store and see someone with one item headed towards the checkout, maybe be aware enough to not race them to the checkout, but let that person go ahead, knowing it will take maybe 2 mintutes and then you will be next..

Awareness of your surroundings. Be aware when you are taking up space in walkway or isle. Look around you for others who are struggling, and if you can step up to help. I know some people struggle with stranger danger, which is the only way I know how to put it. I am quite the opposite, I assume everyone is out to do good in the world, which maybe gives me too rosy of a view, but practicing awareness can benefit you and those around you in profound ways.

I was in an accident in May 2023. I blacked out, so my awareness was not completely present during the few moments before and after the accident., which has made me even more aware during moments that I can be.

Next time you’re out, study what is going on around you, stop and literally smell the roses or smile at someone. It may bring you new friendships or brighten someone’s day.

Wow this is so true. Today someone said I was pretty and it made me smile for over an hour. This was when I was literally in my head. Being aware is really cool. Thanks for this ❤️
